As vessels grow, so do we

Kran 60, en av de investeringar som gjorts för att vi ska kunna hantera större fartyg.

The Swedish Maritime Administration's quarterly port statistics reveal a clear trend across Sweden's ports: fewer port calls, but more cargo. Behind these figures is a significant development — vessels are becoming larger and are able to carry more cargo with each call.

This is a trend we are seeing here at the Port of Uddevalla as well.

In recent years, we have made several strategic investments to meet the demands of the future. Our new port crane enables us to handle larger vessels efficiently, while the new grain facilities in Västra hamnen have created the capacity to receive significantly larger vessels than ever before.

When larger vessels can carry more cargo, fewer port calls are needed. This results in more efficient logistics, better use of resources, and contributes to more sustainable freight transport.

We will continue developing the Port of Uddevalla for the future of maritime transport — with increased capacity, greater efficiency, and a strong focus on sustainability.
