A flexible solution for project goods management

Last week, two cisterns arrived by vessel at Västra hamnen for discharging. These cisterns were commissioned by our client, who is in the process of expanding their liquid bulk handling facilitiy at Västra hamnen.

On delivery, the cisterns were empty. And while the weight of 24 tonnes each was not particularly challenging for us, their substantial size, especially the width, posed a difficulty. Around the port area we have fencing as part of our shell protection, and the cisterns needed to be transported through this barrier to reach the customer's leased area.

Our solution was to dismantle the fence and create a 16 meter wide opening, allowing the special trailer carrying the cisterns to pass through with ease. The fence was then promptly reconstructed to ensure our security measures were not compromised. This operation demanded both adaptability and swift action from our team.
