Premiere of Electric Truck for delivery of Forest Products from Norway

Premiär för ellastbil vid leverans av skogsprodukter från Norge.

Last Friday, the first electric truck arrived at Port of Uddevalla from Norway to discharge products from Norske Skog Saugbrugs.

The truck is a 3-axle Volvo FH Electric with a battery capacity of 540kWh and a range of up to 300 km! With a 150-kW fast charger, it only takes 1–2 hours to charge the battery to 80%.

The truck that arrived in Uddevalla for unloading is one of DFDS's four 6x4 trucks with an impressive HCT combination (High-Capacity Transport) of up to 34.5 meters and 60 tons. DFDS has also applied for a permit for a 74-ton combination on three Swedish routes together with Volvo.

Despite its size, the truck is very quiet thanks to its electric drive, which, combined with its high comfort, is appreciated by the drivers.

In Sweden, DFDS now has 78 electric trucks, 71 of which are based in Gothenburg. In total, they have 131 electric trucks in their fleet, 96 of which operate in the Nordic region. This makes it the largest fleet of electric heavy trucks in the Nordics. And more are on the way, with an additional 96 already ordered.
