HVO = 500 tons less CO2e!

Since February 2024, we have been using HVO instead of fossil diesel for our machines and cranes, and the results speak for themselves:

📉 Emissions with HVO (2024): 225 tons CO2e

🔥 If we had continued with fossil diesel: 728 tons CO2e

👉 This means that we reduced our emissions by over 500 tons CO2e in one year - a clear win for the climate!

Did you know that the combustion of fossil fuels is the largest source of greenhouse gases? CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalents) is used to compare the climate impact of different gases, for example, methane has 28 times greater effect than carbon dioxide.

We are proud of this step in our climate work - and we are not finished yet, we will continue to work towards a more sustainable port.
