What would Christmas look like without ports?

Glad Lucia önskar Uddevalla hamn!

Every year, millions of gifts make their way across the world before finding a place under the tree. Books, electronics, toys, winter clothing and festive food – almost everything we give or receive has travelled by sea at some point.

Nine out of ten goods used in Sweden are transported by sea at some stage of the supply chain. Every day in December, stable port operations help ensure that shelves are stocked, deliveries arrive on time and Christmas wishes become reality.

At the Port of Uddevalla, more than 3,000 tonnes of goods move through our terminals daily. From fresh produce to seasonal products, we work closely with customers and partners to keep Sweden supplied throughout the holiday period.

This time of year reminds us how essential ports are to society – not just for logistics, but for all the moments these goods help create.

Today, we also wish everyone celebrating in Sweden a Happy Lucia. A day of light, tradition and hope at the start of the holiday season.
