Insight into working life at the port – study visit from 8th grade

Today, 8th grade from Norgårdenskolan in Uddevalla had their career day. During the day, we had the opportunity to showcase the port through a guided tour and talk about the wide range of professions we have here. Curious participants gained insight into the daily work at the port and were able to ask questions about everything from everyday tasks to future career paths.

At Port of Uddevalla, we have a broad variety of roles, including stevedores, agents, freight forwarders, workshop technicians, as well as positions within finance, administration, engineering, IT, and marketing.

But it doesn’t stop there. In the port area also there are many other important professions, such as truck drivers, train drivers, and various types of operators. In addition, many companies in the area depend on the port functioning as a key logistics hub that enables their operations.

We hope that the world of ports will be on the radar when it is time for the students to choose their upper secondary education next year. We may even see some of you again as future colleagues.
