Project cargo handled with precision

Earlier this week, we carried out an exciting project cargo operation on behalf of Ferm & Olsson, Stenungsund. Two tanks were transshipped from the M/V Amadeus Aquamarijn onto a smaller barge. The final destination was the petrochemical complex in Stenungsund, an area where limited space places high demands on carefully planned logistics throughout the entire operation.

The tanks, each measuring 17 meters in length, 6.6 meters in diameter, and weighing 26.5 tonnes, were handled with great care at every step despite their size.

Discharge from the vessel was carried out using a synchronized tandem lift, followed by loading onto the barge in the same controlled manner. Onboard, the tanks were positioned in an overlapping arrangement to fit within the confined space while ensuring stability — a solution that requires both experience and a skilled touch from our team.

Once the cargo was secured and ready, with support from Uddevalla Industritjänst, Sandinge Bogsering & Sjötransport towed the barge onward to Stenungsund and its final destination.
