Breaking ground for expanded rail capacity at Sörvik

Construction is now underway on new railway tracks at Sörvik. Here, between the warehouses and Sörvik quay, today’s single track will be expanded into two. The new track will be laid parallel to the existing one, creating a double-track railway.

The new track is an important investment that brings several benefits for both customers and train operators. This development means that we will be able to:

• Handle two different types of cargo simultaneously
• Receive more rail wagons at the same time
• Reduce the number of shunting movements and contribute to more efficient operations for train operators
• Prepare for future railway development at Sörvik

All in all, this investment provides increased capacity, greater flexibility, and better conditions for the future of freight transport at Sörvik.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2026.
