New step forward for Västra hamnen

The project to extend the lifespan of Frölands quay in Västra hamnen has commenced. Westcon Entreprenad AB has been contracted to execute the first phase of this project, which involves renovation work above the water level, including concrete repairs, the installation of new tracks, and new asphalt paving.

Actemium Electro AB will undertake the replacement of the high-voltage switchgear, which is a component of the quay area's lifespan extension. The switchgear will supply electricity to the new rail-mounted crane, scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2025. A crane that will become a new landmark in Uddevalla.

We are preparing for the future by enabling shore power connections for vessels and backup power supply, ensuring that this essential part of Uddevalla's infrastructure operates reliably under all weather conditions.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by April 2025. The second phase, which includes underwater repairs, will be put out for tender in 2025.
